Learn How These 5 Urologists in Bali Made a Real Difference in My Health

Experienced and Credentials: We checked each doctor’s years of practice, specialist training, and official certifications. Doctors with extensive clinical experience and recognized credentials scored higher.

Patient Reviews and Feedback: We read through dozens of patient reviews, online testimonials, and forums to understand how approachable and effective each urologist is in real-life situations.

Range of Services: We looked at what treatments and diagnostics each clinic or hospital offers. Urologists who handle everything from routine checkups to more complex procedures were prioritized.

Facilities and Equipment: We researched the hospitals and clinics’ technology, imaging machines, and labs. Modern, well-maintained equipment ensures safer and more accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Accessibility and Communication: We considered location, consultation hours, and language options. Doctors who explain conditions clearly and make patients feel comfortable are ideal.

When my bladder problems started affecting my daily routine, I finally decided to check out BIMC Hospital. What convinced me was their strong reputation, as they hold the LAM-KPRS “Excellent” Accreditation and even won the Emergency and Trauma Hospital of the Year this 2025.

From the start, the staff were also warm and efficient. The urologist listened carefully and then suggested an ultrasound and lab tests, all done on-site with their modern equipment. So, it felt reassuring to have everything handled in one place.

Their urology services cover kidney stones, prostate issues, and urinary infections, and knowing they have 24/7 emergency support made me feel secure.

Pricing for individual services is not posted, but they offer a Healthcare membership Plan with IDR 1,699,000 for singles, IDR 2,699,000 for couples, and IDR 3,699,000 for families.

The only limitation is that they do not perform complex reconstructive surgeries, which may necessitate referrals to other specialists.

Pros

  • Excellent hospital accreditation
  • Award-winning emergency care
  • Modern on-site equipment
  • Wide urology coverage
  • 24/7 patient support

Cons

  • No pricing on their website
  • No complex reconstructive surgeries

Compassionate and professional

We had an excellent experience at BIMC during my wife’s treatment. From the moment we arrived, the staff were caring, professional, and very supportive. The doctors explained everything clearly and made us feel confident throughout the process. Special thanks to the nursing team for their patience and kindness — they treated my wife with genuine care and respect. The hospital facilities were clean and well-organized, and the overall atmosphere gave us a sense of comfort during a stressful time. We are truly grateful to everyone who looked after her and helped with her recovery. Highly recommend BIMC for anyone looking for compassionate and professional medical care.”

Very well equipped, clean, and modern

“BIMC hospital exceeded my expectations. No one plans for a medical emergency on their vacation but if one happens, you want to be treated by the staff in BIMC. To start, the hospital is very well equipped, clean and modern. The food is delicious and on par with actual restaurants. The kitchen staff is very accommodating with any food allergies or dietary preferences. The medical staff is extremely professional and kind and helps in any way they can to make you feel better not just physically but also mentally. I want to thank to all the nurses and doctors specifically from the ICU, for significantly improving otherwise a really painful and bad memory from my vacation.”

Another clinic I visited was the Surya Husadha Hospital in Denpasar, and I was impressed by how extensive their urology services are. They handle general cases, as well as male and female urology, and even uro-oncology for cancers affecting the bladder or kidneys.

I really liked their focus on minimally invasive surgery, such as laparoscopy and endoscopy, which usually means less recovery time and fewer hospital days.

Their procedures are also top-notch. They have ESWL and URS for kidney stones and TURP for enlarged prostates, all handled by well-regarded specialists like Dr. Pande Made Wisnu Tirtayasa and Dr. G Wirya K Duarsa.

Consultations are fairly affordable at around IDR 100,000. However, procedures can range from IDR 1.5 million to IDR 20 million. That upper range feels steep, especially if your condition requires more advanced care. For patients on a budget, those costs may add pressure during an already stressful time.

Pros

  • Wide urology services
  • Minimally invasive options
  • Trusted urology specialists
  • Advanced hospital equipment
  • Affordable consultation

Cons

  • High procedure costs (up to IDR 20 million)

Highly recommended

“ABSOLUTELY amazing ❤️ I have no words, my boyfriend had a serious viral infection, we were directed by insurance to this hospital, the staff took such a wonderful care of us, they did all the necessary tests super quick, liaised with the insurance company directly and we didn’t have to worry at all. They were super kind and spoke perfect English and explained everything at every step of the way. Not to mention, the hospital was more like a hotel! We had a private room with our own bathroom and shower, with a couch for me to sleep on, and I could be with my boyfriend 24/7, I didn’t need to leave even once. They did all the necessary tests and were very thorough, making sure my boyfriend is fully recovered before discharging us. Highly recommended, thank you Surya Husadha team ❤️”

I felt cared for and supported during my treatment

“Thank you for all the services I received during my time as an outpatient until I finally became an inpatient. I am a BPJS participant. I was very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the efficient and fast service staff, very grateful for the fast and appropriate treatment when I was sick, I felt cared for and supported during my treatment. I feel very appreciated as a patient who, even though I am not a general participant, the service I received was excellent. Moreover, the doctor was super friendly and kind, and didn’t discriminate between general and BPJS patients. Up until the day of my surgery, the nurses were incredibly supportive, as I was traumatized by the prospect of another surgery, but they supported me. They comforted me by inviting me to pray before the procedure. Thank you, Surya Husada Hospital. Although it doesn’t look grand or spacious, the service is extensive. Although some of the staff are a bit grumpy, if we greet them first or ask what we need, they will definitely serve us well, even without a smile. Because not everyone has to follow our wishes. ❤🙏 The point is, don’t wait to be asked before answering. As patients, we must actively ask what we need and what we do during the registration process. Rahayu 🙏”

What sets BaliMed hospital apart from others is its focus on both urology and andrology. In fact, they’re one of the few centers in Bali that openly address male-specific issues like infertility and erectile dysfunction alongside standard urology care.

This dual approach gave me confidence that they look at the full picture, not just one side of the problem.

Their list of procedures is impressive too, from kidney stone treatments like ESWL, TURP for enlarged prostates, cystoscopy, and even penile prosthesis insertion.

They also use modern diagnostic machines like flexible uroflowmetry to make things less invasive. Backing this up is their 5-star accreditation from KARS, a national recognition that proves they follow strict safety and quality standards.

What I found less ideal is the lack of transparency in their procedure costs. Having to inquire separately for detailed quotations makes planning harder, especially for patients budgeting for long-term treatment.

Pros

  • Dual urology and andrology focus
  • Wide range of procedures
  • Modern diagnostic equipment
  • 5-star KARS accreditation

Cons

  • Lack of transparent pricing

The administration was smooth and quick

“Upon admission, we were met by Ibu Ayu. She accompanied us through all the examinations, which were well coordinated. The consultation with the surgeon, Dr. Murcahya, was very informative. We were involved in the type of surgery and made decisions together. He took his time and was very friendly and honest. The entire surgical team was friendly and professional, and the operation was performed to our complete satisfaction. The care during our stay in a spacious, clean room was always friendly and often humorous. The administration was smooth and quick. We highly recommend BaliMed.”

Friendly and professional approach

“Excellent service! It’s the first time I had to visit this hospital and I’m very happy that I chose Balimed. I was pleasantly surprised with the price range, excellent English of all staff, their friendliness and a very professional approach. Doctor Krishna is absolutely amazing he helped me to clarify all my issues. I’m very grateful to meet such a professional specialist. Additionally, the hospital has an excellent diagnostic facilities as well. Last but not least, I would like to say special thank you to Miss Ayu (alert team) who was very helpful, attentive and accommodated all my needs very professionally and promptly. Thank you, I will be happy to recommend Balimed to all my friends.”

If you’re looking for a hospital that feels more like a modern wellness hub than a typical clinic, Bali International Hospital is worth noting.

Their urology center is one of the most advanced I’ve seen on the island, covering kidney stone treatments like laser, PCNL, and RIRS, as well as minimally invasive prostate and bladder surgeries.

They even offer specialized men’s health procedures such as varicocele repair, vasectomy reversal, and penile prosthesis insertion, backed by award-winning microsurgeons.

Consultations cost between IDR 400,000 and IDR 650,000, while full health check-up packages range from IDR 1.8 million to IDR 3 million. For international patients, the hospital offers bundled packages that include consultations, imaging, laboratory tests, and hotel accommodations.

The only drawback is the lack of clear pediatric urology services. For families seeking care for children’s urinary or congenital conditions, this gap could mean traveling elsewhere for specialized treatment.

Pros

  • Advanced Urology Center
  • Wide kidney stone treatments
  • Specialized men’s health care
  • Medical tourism packages offered

Cons

  • No pediatric urology services

Lovely, administrative staff, plenty of parking

Siloam needs to step up its game as there’s a new great option in town with BIH! Quite impressed from my first visit to this hospital, although was relatively straightforward… Met with ENT  Dr Monica Intan, perfect English explain my situation and set realistic expectations about treatment. Most importantly did not try to oversell medication‘s like other hospitals do. I will be taking my business to this hospital from now on. Lovely, administrative staff, plenty of parking, keep up the good work, and God bless your success in Bali 🙏🏼💯”

Stunning, modern, spacious, and beautifully designed

“I recently had the opportunity to visit the new Bali International Hospital, and I was truly impressed. The hospital is stunning modern, spacious, and beautifully designed. Everything is brand new and maintained to the highest standards. From the very first moment, I experienced excellent service. The security staff greeted me warmly, and the consultants guided me through every step. All procedures were handled with great professionalism and attention to detail. I visited the ENT department and had a consultation with Dr. Lolik. The equipment was state-of-the-art, and I received a highly qualified and thorough consultation. One thing to be prepared for is the pricing. Even if you are given a price for the consultation upfront, the final bill may be higher. They do mention in advance that the cost could increase depending on additional procedures or equipment used, but in my case, the doctor didn’t specify during the appointment that using a certain device for analysis would add an extra charge. As a result, my consultation ended up costing twice the amount I was initially told. Overall, the prices are quite high, but if you are looking for top-quality medical care and outstanding service, this hospital could be the right choice, just make sure you are aware of how the pricing works.”

The last clinic on my list is Karsuneka Clinic in Denpasar, chosen mainly for its depth of experience and long-standing presence in Bali’s urology scene. With over 20 years of practice, Dr. Kardi Suteja has been a trusted name in kidney stone management and men’s health.

They are also pioneers of ESWL and cover a wide spectrum of services. This includes vasectomies, prostate procedures, and ureteroscopies, using modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.

For reference, general consultation ranges from IDR 250,000 to 50,000, while ESWL sessions can cost between IDR 2,000,000 and 5,000,000 depending on complexity. Advanced procedures like TURP or stone surgeries require custom quotes.

The catch is that details on advanced laboratory or imaging capabilities, such as MRI or CT scans, and post-surgical inpatient support are limited.

For anyone needing major procedures, this may require extra coordination or referrals, adding time, planning, and potential stress to treatment.

Pros

  • Over 20 years of experience
  • Pioneer in ESWL Bali
  • Wide urology procedure range
  • Modern diagnostic equipment

Cons

  • Limited lab/imaging details
  • Lacks post-surgical inpatient support

The doctor and explanations are good

The doctor is good, the explanations are good. My experience here was good. If we don’t understand something, we can ask again and it will be answered and explained again. The pharmacy has good service. When I didn’t understand the medication I was given, I asked again, and they explained it well. My suggestion is that if you feel the price is too high, you can use your BPJS to go to the hospital’s clinic for a referral. 👍👍”

Friendly and provides good service

“A good clinic is different from other clinics in general, it is reasonable for the price because the use of sophisticated equipment, the online system of treatment is also certainly expensive.

The price of the medicine is quite good because it is patented and right on target for the disease. From the pharmacy staff, registration and doctors, all are friendly and provide good service.”
