Stretch and Relax at These 5 Thai Massage Spots in Bali

  • Authenticity and Training: We sought out spas where therapists are trained in traditional Thai techniques, ensuring that the stretches and pressure points feel authentic.
  • Pricing and Value: We compared rates across different spas, selecting those that strike a balance between fair pricing and consistent quality.
  • Atmosphere and Comfort: We considered the overall setting, from quiet treatment rooms to clean facilities, because the environment significantly influences how relaxed one feels during the session.
  • Accessibility and Extras: We picked spots that are easy to find in Bali’s busier areas and also stand out with extras like herbal compresses, foot massages, or wellness packages.

You know that moment on a mini vacation when you stretch and hear a crack you’ve never heard before? That was us on the second day. Our bodies were still in “office mode” while our minds were already in Canggu.

We decided to try a Thai massage because everyone said it works miracles. It was intense, slightly painful, but unbelievably satisfying. By the end, walking felt… well, a lot smoother than before, as if our stiff muscles had finally remembered how to move.

So, if you want to experience the same magical body reboot, we’ve tracked down the best places for Thai massage in Bali, ensuring your stay doesn’t include accidental chiropractor visits later.

How much does a Thai massage cost in Bali?

Thai massage in Bali typically costs between IDR 150,000 and IDR 350,000 per session, depending on the spa’s location, duration, and level of luxury. Many spas also provide package deals that combine Thai massage with aromatherapy or herbal treatments for added value.

Open since 2023, Therapy Day Spa is one of those places that feels both polished and grounded. It offers toxin-free and plant-based treatments designed to nurture both the body and the senses.

The spa’s holistic menu includes massages and even scalp rituals, providing guests with numerous ways to unwind in one stop.

Their signature “Healing Act” massage starts at IDR 360,000 for 60 minutes and IDR 480,000 for 90 minutes. It is a fair price for the premium setting and professional technique.

Each treatment begins with a 10-minute foot ritual, a thoughtful touch that sets the tone for a slower pace. The therapists are well-trained, blending deep pressure and long, rhythmic strokes that leave muscles loose.

The spa’s design is a “container-style” with quiet ambiance near Echo Beach, making it feel like an oasis for anyone who values mindful self-care over mere pampering.

But due to its popularity, walk-ins are nearly impossible during peak hours, and appointments often fill up days in advance. Traffic in the Canggu area can also be unpredictable, which makes planning ahead essential.

Pros

  • Uses plant-based and cruelty-free products
  • Offers 60- and 90-minute sessions
  • Holistic spa menu with massage treatments
  • Includes pre-treatment foot ritual and herbal tea
  • Minimalist design near Echo Beach

Cons

  • Hard to secure last-minute bookings

Everything was 100%

“My friend recommended me this place and its hands down the best spa place that I’ve been to so far. From the ambience to the aromatherapy to the service provided, everything was 100%. I had the 60min cream bath and 60min foot massage. My hair felt so nice and so smooth after the cream bath and the arm/hand massages were a bonus which i was not expecting!

I think they might have mistaken when i said foot relaxology for reflexology but either way, i still had a very comfortable experience! Will definitely be back!”

Rooms were very clean and well furnished

“So good that I already thought of booking my next appointment immediately after the session! We booked in for a 90 minutes healing touch massage and it was amazing! Before the session, they get you to fill up a form and asks you if you have any target areas and level of pressure preferred (soft, medium, hard). I chose medium pressure and it was indeed medium pressure that was delivered. I felt so relaxed that my masseuse even had to wake me up 3 times to flip over in the middle haha. The rooms were very clean and well furnished. Super cozy as well.

Highly recommend for anyone coming to Bali!”

Spring Spa is surrounded by Canggu’s surf cafes and boutiques. Once you step inside, the contrast hits. It features airy, all-white interiors and a health bar, making it feel more like a chic lounge than a traditional spa.

The spa is part of a New Zealand-founded brand by Ina Bajaj, and this branch marks their third prestige location in Bali. Their “social spa” concept blends wellness and beauty, allowing you to mix massages with scrubs or even a manicure and pedicure in one go.

We tried their Spring Signature Massage and noticed how refined the technique felt, with smooth transitions between pressure points and gentle stretch work reminiscent of Thai-style movements.

Another highlight is the flexibility of the menu. You can choose from 45-, 60-, 75-, or 90-minute sessions, depending on your energy level or budget.

There’s also a “spring stretch therapy using no oil with Thai techniques.” It’s perfect for those craving a stretch-based treatment without leaving the luxury setting.

However, prices are notably high compared to typical Bali massage spots, with sessions starting around IDR 2 million.

Pros

  • Modern interiors with a health bar
  • Wide treatment menu
  • Includes “spring stretch therapy” using Thai techniques
  • Skilled therapists trained in traditional and modern methods
  • Flexible session lengths

Cons

  • More expensive than standard Bali massage studios

The service was top-notch

“August 2024

We visited Spring Spa Canggu for our 7-year anniversary — and little did I know, I’d be getting engaged just a few hours later! 💍✨ This spa experience was truly special. We had never done anything like it before, and it was the perfect way to relax and celebrate. We chose a couples package that included a full body massage, facials, and hand massages, and it was absolutely worth the price.

The atmosphere was calming, the service was top-notch, and it made an already meaningful day even more unforgettable. Highly recommend for a special occasion or just some well-deserved self-care!”

Went above and beyond during the session

“Spring Spa is not only aesthetic but the staff is extremely welcoming, professional and kind. They’re very attentive and helpful. The signature massage was very relaxing and the nail service was excellent as well. I even came back for a lymphatic drainage massage and it was even better. The massage therapist Manda was wonderful and she even went over a few spots when I asked her to. She went above and beyond during my session. I couldn’t leave Bali without a blow out and the hair stylist was so sweet. The hair wash was fantastic and through. The blow dry was beautiful, she has great technique and couldn’t feel a thing during it! My hair felt smooth and soft even lasted the day after. I couldn’t recommend Spring enough.”

3. Jari Menari

Jari Menari, meaning “Dancing Fingers,” opened in 2001 as a massage and training center in Seminyak. It’s surrounded by flowing water walls and stone carvings, giving it an open-air ambiance.

Their all-male therapist is extensively trained to deliver a consistent rhythm using Thai, Swedish, and Indonesian methods. But it’s not a pure Thai massage in the traditional sense, so if you’re expecting full stretches, this setup might feel a bit different.

Regardless, the massage sessions here are deeply therapeutic. The pressure adapts intuitively to each muscle group and structured in a way that works through body tension.

Their treatment menu is impressive too. It features options such as the Signature Massage and the 4-Hand Massage, where two therapists work in perfect synchrony.

What sets them apart further is their villa service for groups of six or more. It’s a rare offering that brings their professional setup directly to your private accommodation.

They also conduct workshops for aspiring therapists, demonstrating their dedication to refining and sharing the craft.

Pros

  • Trained all-male practitioners
  • Integrates Thai, Swedish, and Indonesian modalities
  • Unique 4-hand treatment
  • Peaceful open-air setting with water features
  • Offers villa service and professional training workshops

Cons

  • Not a fully traditional Thai massage experience

The entire experience is top-notch

“Had numerous massages throughout Asia but this was by far the best. Technical ability of the masseuse is unmatched; had the deep tissue massage and it was perfection. The entire experience is top notch, with a spacious and clean shower area to wash up pre and post massage. Definitely not the cheapest but for the ability of the masseuse, it becomes superb value. Best of the best.”

Deeply relaxing and revitalizing

“I had an incredible experience at Jari Menari. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was calm, welcoming, and beautifully serene. The staff are highly professional and genuinely caring, making you feel completely at ease.

The massage itself was unlike anything I’ve experienced before – the flowing technique, attention to detail, and sense of rhythm was both deeply relaxing and revitalizing. You can really feel the skill and dedication that goes into the practice here.

Everything from the setting to the service was first-class, and I left feeling lighter, refreshed, and completely restored. If you’re in Bali and want a massage that goes beyond the ordinary, Jari Menari is a must-visit.”

4. Hati Thai Holistic Spa

Hati Thai Holistic Spa combines Thai-inspired rituals. The setting feels like a retreat with running water and that signature scent of herbal oil lingering even after you leave.

The therapists are trained through their own Hati Thai Massage School, which explains the consistency in pressure across sessions. For anyone curious about authenticity, the in-house training provides confidence that every technique is executed with precision.

The spa offers a wide selection of treatments, from body scrubs and Kobido facials to full rituals, such as the HATI ZEN. This includes a bath and candle massage.

Their Thai Harmony’s signature Thai massage starts at around IDR 120,000 at the Abianbase branch. Meanwhile, Canggu’s rates are slightly higher but still reasonable, given the quality.

Their two branches in Abianbase and Canggu make them accessible to inland and coastal visitors. There’s even an option to join their massage courses if you’re inspired to learn the craft yourself, which is a fun twist to a spa visit.

However, their limited operating hours can be somewhat inconvenient, especially for travelers seeking a late-night wind-down.

Pros

  • Offers authentic Thai-inspired treatments
  • Therapists trained in-house through Hati Thai Massage School
  • Serene atmosphere with thoughtful details
  • Has two easily accessible branches
  • Offers massage training courses

Cons

  • Limited operating hours

By far the best Thai massage in Bali

“Absolutely amazing experience — by far the best Thai massage we’ve had in Bali. We were welcomed into a private room for two, with warm and professional therapists who really took the time to understand our needs through a short form at the start.

They didn’t go easy on us (classic Thai style 💪), but wow — it worked. I left feeling totally reset, and the pain I had for days was finally gone. We finished with a super intense homemade ginger tea — not for the faint-hearted, but so good! Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back!”

Strong and deeply therapeutic

“I live in Canggu and visit this place often. Highly recommended. The Ayurvedic massage is so relaxing. Today I tried the foot massage with Martini and absolutely loved it. It was strong and deeply therapeutic. She found all the right pressure points, and afterwards I felt like a new person! Truly the best foot massage I’ve had on Bali. I also appreciate that the therapists use special tools to work on the pressure points, such a nice touch”

The Thai-style treatments they provide stand out as matching what’s offered in spas. The convenience of having professionals come to you is a plus, especially for those with limited mobility or packed itineraries.

Yuma’s way of maintaining high hygiene standards and reliable technique makes them easily become a go-to for those craving authentic Thai-inspired relief on their own terms.

The 24/7 availability offers unmatched convenience, allowing you to book at any time and from anywhere in Bali. However, previous clients note that this doesn’t always guarantee service at your preferred time or according to your schedule.

Pros

  • 24-hour availability across Bali
  • Mobile “massage on call” service
  • Convenient for villas or hotels
  • Ideal for guests with limited mobility

Cons

  • Booking uncertainty

The massage was very good and professional

“This is my third massage in Bali, ordered outcall as Jimbaran area’s massage parlour are either too expensive or closes early. I don’t usually give reviews but this is very good!! Masseurs arrived ten min before agreed time. However as my gojek cancelled on me last min, my masseurs waited for our return patiently.

After starting, they did not cut my 90min due to us being late. They prepared their own massage cloth and we could lie down on sofa comfortably to do the massage. Massage was very good and professional, or actually, even better than the usual parlours we went! At the comfort of your own villa!! And we can save the trip and hassle (and it rained not long after our massage ) and bath immediately for bed.

Best part – it’s 24hrs!! Ayuma has been super responsive too to WhatsApp, thank you so much!”

Super nice and has great hands

“Great experience! I asked for the Balinese massage and I totally loved it. Ayuma is super nice and has great hands! She gave me different options for the oil, music and massage pressure. It was relaxing and enjoyable. My husband asked for the foot/legs massage and Tari provided a strong massage for his tired legs. Thank you so much!”
