Sweat Your Way Through Paradise with the 5 Best Gyms in Bali

  • Equipment: I looked for gyms that have well-maintained equipment and enough space for everyone to move around. Having the right gear keeps every workout safe and effective.
  • Trainers: I prioritized gyms with skilled and friendly trainers who are there to guide you.
  • Facilities: I leaned towards gyms that provide more than just workout equipment. Clean showers and good amenities really enhance the overall experience.
  • Community: I chose gyms with a positive, encouraging vibe. It’s so much easier to stay committed when you’re surrounded by inspiring individuals.
  • Membership: I picked gyms with flexible membership plans. Whether you’re in Bali for a short visit or a longer stay, having options that fit your schedule and budget is a huge plus.

When you live in Bali, it’s hard not to get caught up in the island’s fitness culture. What started as casual workouts quickly turned into exploring some of the best gyms I’ve ever seen.

From peaceful yoga studios in Ubud to serious lifting spots in Canggu, there’s truly something for every fitness style here. The gyms aren’t just well-equipped, but they’re also full of people who make you feel part of a community.

So whether you’re staying long-term or just passing through, Bali’s fitness scene will keep you moving. If you’re not sure where to start, think of this as your go-to guide to the island’s best gyms… the ones locals (myself included) truly swear by.

How much do gym memberships cost in Bali?

Gym memberships in Bali usually cost from IDR 800,000 to IDR 2,500,000 per month. However, prices can vary depending on the gym’s amenities, class offerings, and location, such as in popular areas like Canggu, Ubud, or Seminyak.

On my recent visit to Canggu, I decided to try out Gym Zone. It’s a place that came highly recommended by fitness enthusiasts for its private training setup.

I’ve worked out at several gyms across the island, but this one really stood out because it offers exclusive access to its equipment—no waiting around.

The booking process through their app was super quick. To be honest, I loved how easy it was to choose a specific time and space that fit my schedule. They have flexible access hours, allowing members to train early in the morning or late at night.

Each training zone is stocked with top-notch weights and cardio machines, all kept clean and well-maintained. On top of that, the environment felt comfortable, making it perfect for focused workouts without the usual noise.

Additionally, they provide personalized training plans and one-on-one coaching for those looking for customized workouts.

The only minor downside I noticed was that the private setup limits the social aspect, since there aren’t any group classes or a chance to mingle with other gym-goers. Still, it offers a calm space where you can fully immerse yourself in your workouts, so it’s a win-win.

Pros

  • Exclusive access to equipment
  • Easy online booking via app
  • Clean and well-maintained equipment
  • Personalized training plans
  • Offers one-on-one coaching
  • Flexible access hours

Cons

  • Limited group class options

Comfortable and neat place

“Nice fitness, comfortable place, nice, neat, the equipment is also very complete, good for going to the gym because it’s private, so you don’t have to fight over it with other people, best gym zone.”

Facilities are very modern

“I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to work out! The facilities are very modern, the place is clean, there’s no membership fee, you can book with friends, and it’s also perfect for introverts.”

I heard from the locals that Bambu Fitness Bali is the place in Canggu where travelers come together to train hard and meet others who share their passion.

As soon as I walked in, I was struck by how organized and spacious everything was. There was this motivating energy that made me eager to get moving.

I decided to join their Hyrox class. It’s a well-structured mix of endurance and strength circuits that really gets your heart pumping. The instructor was super attentive and encouraging.

What truly sets Bambu apart is its Olympic weightlifting platforms and premium equipment from Rogue and Eleiko.

In addition, they offer specialized recovery sessions. These include ice baths and mobility coaching, which helped me recover faster and improve performance.

I really enjoyed their group classes, like Saturday Swolemate. They offer such high-energy workouts and really help build a sense of community while you’re working out.

If there’s one thing to keep in mind, it’s that Bambu can get quite busy in the mornings. I’d recommend heading there in the afternoon for a more relaxed training vibe and easier access to the equipment.

Pros

  • Spacious and well-organized facility
  • Premium Olympic weightlifting equipment
  • Attentive and encouraging instructors
  • Specialized recovery sessions
  • Variety of group classes

Cons

  • Busy during morning hours

The gym itself is top-notch

“I absolutely fell in love with Bambu Fitness Gym! Especially the Hyrox group class, they were truly next level. Such an incredible vibe, great energy, and so many inspiring, beautiful people in one place. The gym itself is top-notch, well-equipped, stylish, and full of motivation. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for more than just a workout. This place is an experience.”

Has all the latest equipment you need

“This is an amazing space. I’ve been to a lot of gyms over the years, and this is the most unique space I’ve ever seen. It’s huge, clean, and modern. It has all the latest equipment you need. And the staff is very friendly. Get yourself a sweat in and finish with some delicious food at the cafe. Bambu is amazing. It will be my new home whenever I’m in Bali.”

While I was in Bali, I was looking for a gym that could balance serious training with a relaxed Bali vibe, and Muscle Beach Club stood out.

The open area and gentle ocean breeze set it apart from any gym I’ve visited. It’s conveniently located along Raya Uluwatu, surrounded by palm trees and sunshine.

I started my training in their outdoor CrossFit area, which featured barbells and sleds ideal for functional workouts. After that, I headed to the air-conditioned section for some cardio, hopping on their treadmills and rowing machines.

They also have a recovery zone, complete with a jacuzzi that made cooling down feel like a proper spa session. Also, their cafe served high-quality protein shakes and smoothie bowls (just what I needed after sweating it out).

However, I had to adjust my routine slightly before my session because only a few cardio machines were available during peak hours.

But for a one-day pass that costs about IDR 270,000, it seemed fair given all the great amenities.

Pros

  • Outdoor CrossFit and functional training area
  • Air-conditioned cardio section
  • Recovery zone with jacuzzi
  • On-site cafe with protein shakes and smoothie bowls
  • Scenic location with ocean breeze

Cons

  • Limited cardio machines during peak hours

Not really crowded

“Great gym. I got a week pass for 500k. The gym has all the equipment you need. Has a sauna and an ice bath. They will put ice cubes in the ice bath for you and have a pool. Great value for what you get. Not really crowded, everyone is respectful and keeps to themselves. Has a weight-lifting room and then a cardio room, and a boxing room. And has AC in every room.”

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable

“Muscle Beach Club is an outstanding gym! The facility is always clean, well-maintained, and packed with top-quality equipment. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, offering excellent support whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete. The positive and motivating atmosphere makes every workout enjoyable. Plus, the spacious layout ensures it never feels overcrowded. The clean locker rooms and relaxing sauna are added perks. Highly recommend Muscle Beach Club to anyone serious about their fitness.”

I’ve been exploring different gyms around Bali when I came across the Wrong Gym in Pererenan. Its reputation for high-intensity training and top-tier facilities instantly grabbed my attention.

Beyond that, the gym is designed to cater to a range of fitness goals, whether you’re into conditioning or recovery.

They have a Hell Room, dedicated to boxing and strength circuits, complete with heavy bags and rigs. Meanwhile, the Booty Room offers specialized machines for lower-body strength work.

The main gym floor is filled with high-quality equipment, and the rooftop cardio area provides a great open-air view of the rice fields.

They also offer personal training sessions and customized programs, allowing you to improve your technique and stay on track with your goals.

The recovery facilities are also noteworthy, featuring a sauna and pool. I paid around IDR 300,000 for my drop-in, which felt totally worth it for the experience.

The only challenge was the crowd during peak hours. I had to wait a bit for some of the free-weight stations and machines.

Pros

  • High-intensity training programs
  • Specialized rooms for strength and lower-body work
  • Rooftop cardio area with rice-field view
  • Personal training and customized programs
  • Recovery facilities with sauna and pool

Cons

  • Crowded during peak hours

Beautiful and innovative design of the space

“The Wrong Gym in Bali stands out as one of the most thoughtfully designed fitness spaces around. The equipment is top-tier and meticulously maintained, offering everything needed. The layout is open and efficient, allowing for a smooth workout experience without unnecessary congestion. What truly sets it apart is the beautiful and innovative design of the space, which combines functionality with a strong aesthetic appeal. It’s a gym that clearly values quality in both its facilities and overall atmosphere.”

Very well-managed gym

“I’ve never spent this much time at a gym in my life, but Wrong Gym is more than just a workout space. It’s a place for training, eating, recovery, like an ice pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and having it all in one. I should also say it’s very well-managed, super clean, and the staff are great. I’m really satisfied with this gym.”

Nirvana Life in Canggu is definitely one of the top fitness destinations in Bali. It’s not just a gym, but it’s also a full wellness center with advanced training facilities and top-notch recovery and relaxation options.

The thoughtful space is impressive. It’s designed with dedicated areas for strength and cardio training. In addition, the open-air area faces the rice fields, giving a calm view that makes training feel refreshing.

I appreciate their functional strength classes, which focus on proper technique. Many have also praised the coaches’ personalized attention.

Beyond training, Nirvana offers one of the best recovery centers I’ve seen, complete with ice baths and saunas perfect for unwinding.

A day pass costs around IDR 540,000 and gives you access to the entire facility, including group sessions and recovery areas. Plus, their cafe offers delicious meals and smoothies that are perfect for refueling after a workout.

One problem is that during peak evening hours, it can get a bit crowded.

Pros

  • Full-service fitness and wellness center
  • Dedicated strength and cardio areas
  • Ice baths and sauna recovery facilities
  • Open-air area with rice field views
  • Functional classes with personalized coaching

Cons

  • Crowded during peak evening hours

Classes were great

“First time here and loved the place so much! Will 100% return! The place is so posh and has such a good vibe! Food was excellent, love the protein shakes too! Enjoyed the facility a lot, classes were great, plunge pool was awesome.”

I’m extremely satisfied with my experience

“This gym is amazing! The facilities are very complete, including a sauna that’s super comfortable for relaxation after a workout. The restaurant inside the gym also offers delicious and healthy menu options. The recovery area is really helpful for recovering after intense exercise. And the highlight is the pool area, which is spacious and perfect for swimming or just lounging around. I’m extremely satisfied with my experience at this gym, and I’ll definitely be back!”
