Ambiance: I chose restaurants with pleasant and relaxing atmospheres. Whether cozy or lively, the vibe should make you want to linger a little longer.

Customer Reviews: I checked what diners have to say about their experiences. The best halal restaurants are praised for their consistent taste and inviting atmosphere that keeps people coming back for more.

Finding halal food while exploring Bali sounded simple until I stumbled upon many hidden gems between beach cafes and eateries. As someone who loves trying local dishes but still sticks to halal, I quickly learned that not every place with halal on the menu delivers on quality.

From family-run warungs to modern restaurants offering twists on Indonesian favorites, the best places balance flavor and a great atmosphere.

If you’re in Bali right now or planning a visit soon, I’ve put together a list of the best halal restaurants on the island that you won’t wanna miss.

How much is a dish of halal food in Bali?

A dish of halal food in Bali usually costs around IDR 30,000 to IDR 50,000 at local or casual restaurants. However, prices can vary depending on the type of dish and where you eat.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dimsum Chika in Umalas — a halal-friendly spot that exceeded my expectations as a local. What initially caught my attention was their focus on freshly made Hong Kong-style dim sum, all prepared daily using high-quality ingredients.

I started with their hakau udang, which was delicate and flavorful, perfectly paired with their 100% halal spicy chili oil. Their mie ayam Bandung was another standout — a comforting bowl with a savory broth and springy noodles that hit all the right notes.

Beyond dim sum, Dimsum Chika also offers a wide variety of Indonesian–Chinese comfort dishes, from soups and rice meals to hearty main courses featuring beef, seafood, and vegetables. Many of these recipes come from cherished family traditions, giving each dish a nostalgic, home-cooked feel — like their signature Nasi Goreng Mama, a simple but delicious fried rice with egg, garlic, and shallot that recalls childhood breakfasts.

The ambiance adds to the charm, combining indoor and outdoor seating with vintage vinyl music that creates a cozy, nostalgic vibe. The outdoor area can get a bit warm at noon, so visiting in the evening is ideal for a cooler, more relaxed experience.

Another thing I appreciated was the value — most dishes are priced between IDR 22,000 and IDR 30,000, making it a great choice for both travelers and locals who want authentic halal comfort food without spending much.

Dimsum Chika is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM, making it a go-to spot for late-night cravings. Whether you dine in or order online through WhatsApp or delivery apps, it’s a place that truly feels like eating at your grandma’s home — warm, welcoming, and delicious in every bite.

Pros

  • Freshly made Hong Kong-style dim sum
  • High-quality ingredients
  • Cozy indoor and outdoor setup
  • Reasonable pricing for travelers
  • Nostalgic vinyl music ambiance

Cons

  •  Outdoor seating can get warm at noon

Every single dish is incredibly amazing

“Whenever I come here, I’m absolutely blown away—every single dish is incredibly amazing! The flavors are spot-on, and the quality? Consistently top-tier. But seriously—don’t skip the Hainanese chicken rice. I’d say I’m literally dying for it. The chicken is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The fragrant rice is so flavorful that I find myself going back for seconds and thirds! To add to the experience, the staff are all super friendly—warm, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do. It makes the whole dining experience feel so welcoming, like you’re eating at a friend’s house.”

Super satisfying meal and definitely ordering again

“Tried a few things from Dimsum Chika, both dining in and ordering through GrabFood. My favorite was the Kwetiau, it’s sooo good! I like the taste of the wok flavor, and it’s seasoned perfectly. The fried rice was also flavorful. I also had the bakso, which was simple but comforting. Overall, it was a super satisfying meal and definitely ordering again.”

I’ve always wanted to try authentic Arabian dishes, so I was glad to come across Arabian Knight Ubud in Bali. This restaurant offers a fully halal menu with no alcohol or pork… just what I was looking for.

I ordered their lamb mandi. It’s a fragrant rice dish topped with tender lamb, along with hummus bil lamb and freshly baked pita bread. Each dish was flavorful and comforting, the kind that instantly makes you feel at home.

The freshly made Arabic bread and generous vegetarian mezze platters were definitely highlights, perfect for sharing.

Meanwhile, the place has a warm Middle Eastern atmosphere, with soft lantern lighting and wooden interiors. I appreciate that they’re open until 1 AM, perfect for those who prefer dining late after exploring Ubud.

My only concern was the live music at night. During my visit, it was a bit loud for conversations, but it’s easy to ask for a seat in the quieter section if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere.

Pros

  • Authentic Arabian dishes
  • Warm Middle Eastern atmosphere
  • Open until 1 AM
  • Freshly baked Arabic Bread
  • Generous vegetarian mezze platters

Cons

  • Live music can be loud at night

Super delicious, and the portions are a good size for two

“A true Arab experience in BALI! The food was halal and so fresh and delicious. We ordered the battata harra, Mandi, grilled chicken platter, lentil soup and tiramisu. Everything was super delicious and delicious and the portions are a good size for two. The owner was super hospitable and made sure everything was perfect.”

Delicious food and attentive staff

“Amazing service, we were seated as soon as we walked in with a very warm welcome. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is delicious, decor is incredible and shisha was very good. This restaurant is different to all others in ubud and nothing competes with the vibe. Lovely to have a taste of Arabia in Bali.”

I felt relieved to find a humble spot offering truly halal-friendly Balinese cuisine. I discovered Warung Wardani Tuban during one of my morning walks, and it’s just minutes from the airport.

The restaurant may look casual from the outside, but the food takes me straight to the heart of its culture.

I went for the Nasi Campur III, which came with shredded chicken and sambal served with white rice. I also tried their beef soup with tender meat and a clear broth that tasted refreshingly simple.

Other than that, the vibe is airy, plus the prices are quite reasonable for travelers looking for authentic cuisine. The portions start at around IDR 45,000, depending on your toppings (very cheap, I must say!).

What also makes this place a must-visit is their fast and efficient service, where meals are served fresh within minutes despite the crowd.

Just a heads up, though, that the road setting can get a little crowded during lunch. You might have to wait or share a table unless you arrive early.

Pros

  • Halal-friendly Balinese cuisine
  • Convenient location near the airport
  • Quick and efficient service
  • Authentic local dishes
  • Affordable meal portions

Cons

  • Limited seating during lunch hours

The most delicious non-pork mixed rice in Bali

“This restaurant sells the most delicious non-pork mixed rice in Bali in my opinion. We often stop by to eat or at least take away. The mixed rice has a variety of side dishes that are generally delicious. No wonder, this place is always crowded. The price is also affordable.”

Portion was perfect

“My husband and I were after a quick meal near the airport as we had to catch our flight and stumbled upon this warung. It’s not exactly a warung in the traditional sense considering the size, but the food was good with a taste of homemade food. Portion was perfect, not too much not too little. Service was quick too, so perfect if you are on a tight window before your flight.”

I didn’t expect to find a place in Bali that could instantly transport me to the Mediterranean, but Sababa in Canggu did just that.

The air smelled of freshly grilled meats and warm spices, reminding me of markets in the Middle East.

I tried out their signature Sababa mixed grill. It’s a generous platter of lamb kofta and beef skewers served with homemade labneh and warm pita. Every bite tasted smoky and full of spice, like something straight off a Levantine street grill.

I added a mezze platter on the side, and it easily became one of my favorite meals on the island.

Even better, the restaurant itself feels like a cozy slice of Beirut. Soft lights and a relaxed high-end vibe make it perfect for sunset dinners.

However, one thing to note is that Sababa gets full fast during dinner hours, especially on weekends. So booking ahead through their website or WhatsApp helps you secure a table without waiting too long.

Pros

  • Authentic Middle Eastern flavors
  • Cozy Mediterranean-inspired setting
  • Generous portion sizes
  • Signature mixed grill and mezze platters
  • Convenient online and WhatsApp table booking

Cons

  • Gets fully booked during dinner hours

The atmosphere was excellent, and the food was astounding

“This food made you feel like you were in Greece! The atmosphere was excellent, the food was astounding, and the staff was friendly. This place is to die for! Such an amazing establishment to dine in and spend money. Please take time out of your day and come and visit. They will be waiting for you with open arms.”

The staff were nice and very friendly

“Very affordable for the quantity of food, and the staff were nice and very friendly. We enjoyed our dinner, but the wine selection was very limited. Definitely recommend dinner out!”

I heard from a few locals about a restaurant in Kuta where you could dine inside a floating hut, so I decided to give Bale Udang a try. The peaceful view of wooden saungs built over a pond filled with koi instantly calmed me.

It felt like a quiet escape from the busy streets of Bali. I chose a spot above the water and ordered their udang bakar madu. It’s a honey-grilled prawn dish that lived up to its reputation—smoky and cooked to perfection.

I also tried their gurame goreng terbang. It was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside. Its savory flavor pairs well with their sambal.

Everything on the menu is halal-certified, and the portions are large enough for families or groups.

In addition, the restaurant also offers private huts for small gatherings, making it ideal for intimate meals.

My only minor concern was the long wait during dinner hours, so it’s better to reserve ahead or visit slightly before the rush.

Pros

  • Halal-certified menu
  • Floating hut dining experience
  • Large portions for families or groups
  • Private huts for small gatherings
  • Relaxing pondside ambiance

Cons

  • Longer wait times during peak hours

Excellent service, and the atmosphere was beautiful

“This was the best authentic Balinese food that we’ve had all trip. Iluh gave us excellent service and the atmosphere is beautiful.  We sat in a floating hut with a lovely breeze and we fed the fish from our table. There’s an indoor play gym for the kids. Highly recommended!”

A really perfect place

“Really a perfect place! I loved the grilled fish with sambal. The grilled shrimp were fantastic too. However, what I enjoyed the most was the scenery. It was very beautiful. The lighting was good, the view was good, and the music was good.”
