Strum, Sing, and Shine at These 5 Best Music Lesson Studios in Bali
I never really thought about taking music lessons while in Bali until I had the time to slow down and try something new. At first, I considered learning online, but it just didn’t feel the same as having a real instructor guiding you.
That’s when I started exploring music studios in Bali. It completely changed the experience. Lessons felt more personal, creative, and even relaxing.
Plus, many teachers tailor sessions based on your pace, whether you’re a beginner or want to improve. So, if you have been thinking about learning an instrument or improving your skills, Bali has some incredible options that make the process enjoyable and flexible.
How much do music lessons cost in Bali?
Music lessons in Bali typically cost IDR 200,000 to IDR 800,000 per session, depending on the instrument, instructor experience, and lesson format (private or group). Some schools also offer discounted packages for multiple sessions or monthly enrollments.
1. Ensiklomusika Music School

Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa No.8, Canggu, Square, Kabupaten Badung, 80361
Contact: +62 878 8819 9069
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Ensiklomusika is one of those music schools that feels very structured and well-established from the start. It’s been around since 2012 and has built a strong reputation in both Bali and Jakarta, especially among international students.
One thing I like is how accessible it is. Lessons are offered in both English and Indonesian. So it’s easy to settle in even if you’re new to the area.
They go beyond just basic lessons too. Students can prepare for globally recognized certifications like ABRSM and Rockschool. This is great if you’re aiming for something more formal.
Ensiklomusika also organizes public concerts, giving students a chance to perform and gain confidence in legitimate music venues.
Trial classes are available. There are also options for instrument rentals, home lessons, and even digital music production courses.
They’ve also partnered with several learning centers. This is what makes them a popular choice for families.
However, the highly structured, exam-focused approach may feel a bit too intense if you’re just looking for something casual.
You will grow as a musician while having lots of fun doing it
“I had the pleasure with working with Ms Dea who is their vocal teacher for the school. Not only is she a talented singer, but she is also an incredible teacher who is very patient and caring which, in turn makes the classes feel very safe and supported all throughout. I highly recommend this school to anyone who has ever wanted to attend music classes, you will grow as a musician while having lots of fun doing it.”

2. Bali Rudiment Music Course & Performing Arts

Address: Jl. Lc Penamparan Indah IIIA No.1, Padangsambian, Kec. Denpasar Bar., Kota Denpasar, 80118
Contact: +62 818 0552 3125
Operating Hours:

Bali Rudiment feels like a very thoughtful and student-centered music school, especially if you’re looking for a more flexible learning environment.
Founded in 2007 by musician Reymond Almanto, the school brings years of teaching experience. And it really shows in how lessons are handled. The pace is calm, and instructors take time to adjust to each student’s comfort level.
What stood out to me most was their special-needs program. They offer dedicated classes for children with autism, ADHD, and anxiety. They even offer sessions for clients with Down syndrome, which isn’t something you see everywhere.
The only thing to note is that special-needs class slots can be limited, so it’s best to book early.
Aside from vocals, Bali Rudiment also teaches instruments like piano, guitar, and drums. They also have creative classes like musical theater and music production.
Plus, trial lessons are available, and fees start at around IDR 485,000 per month. This price feels quite reasonable.
I only practiced for 2 months and already played frequently on stage
“Learn to play drums at Bali Rudiment Course, starting from scratch or continuing with advanced techniques/skills. The professional, efficient teaching method allows us to quickly learn to play drums according to our desired goals. I only practiced for 2 months and already played frequently on stage in high school bands. Next time, I will definitely come back to practice here.”

I was right to choose Bali Rudiment as a place for my son to learn drums
“Unfortunately, I only discovered this place in December 2019. Previously, my son, Ello Simanjuntak, had taken lessons at another institution, but the results were less than satisfactory for me as a parent. After taking lessons at Bali Rudiment, he has improved significantly, from being able to read musical notes and using new beats in hymns to serve God at church.
The teachers also communicate very well, know how to find the child’s strengths and are professional towards their students.
I was right to choose Bali Rudiment as a place for my son to learn drums professionally.
Sorry for the long comment, because my satisfaction has become a source of consolation.
Positive: Professionalism”

3. The Signature

Address: Jl. Perumahan Pondok Sungai Gangga No.45, Pemecutan Klod, Kec. Denpasar Bar., Kota Denpasar, 80119
Contact: +62 813 3932 1615
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
I first came across The Signature on social media, and what immediately stood out was how personal and tailored the lessons seem.
Instead of following a rigid curriculum, they focus on individualized coaching. They actually combine music training with psychology-based methods. This helps align lessons with each student’s personality and goals.
It’s a great option if you’ve ever felt restricted by traditional music schools. But if you prefer a more structured, exam-oriented setup, this approach might not be the best fit.
Nonetheless, they offer both online and in-person classes, which makes scheduling a lot more flexible. While vocals are a major focus, students can also learn instruments like piano, guitar, and saxophone.
The instructors bring solid experience too. For example, Ms. Reita Wijaya has a background in ABRSM training along with a law degree. Then Mr. Sugeng Riyadi has over 11 years of experience and is certified in the Yamaha Guitar Method.
Funny, engaging, and highly professional
“We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Signature Music School while on holiday in Kuta. Our 8-year-old son attended daily lessons with Steven, and we cannot recommend him highly enough!
Steven is a truly exceptional teacher—he is funny, engaging, and highly professional. He has a brilliant ability to connect with young students, making every lesson enjoyable while still maintaining focus and structure. Our son looked forward to his sessions every single day, which speaks volumes about Steven’s teaching style.
Thanks to Steven’s expert guidance, our son’s skills and confidence improved over our short trip. We are now looking forward to his next exam and are feeling very optimistic about him achieving a distinction🤞🏻
If you are looking for a music instructor in Kuta, especially for children, look no further than Steven at Signature Music School.”

This is truly the right place to develop classical piano skills
“To: Mr. Steven
Thank you, Mr. Steven. I came here to polish my skills, and this is truly the right place to develop classical piano skills. Even though my knowledge of music theory was still limited, he helped me understand it clearly. I also love being challenged with many pieces, and he is always enthusiastic about giving me challenging songs and lots of helpful feedback on my playing.
Thank you so much!”

4. Farabi Music School

Address: Jl. Pemuda IV No.1, Renon, Denpasar Selatan, Kota Denpasar, 80239
Contact: +62 819 3622 2552
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Friday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Farabi Music School feels like a place where music is taken seriously, both as an art and a discipline.
It was founded by Dwiki Dharmawan, a well-known Indonesian pianist and composer. His work spans jazz, classical, and ethnic fusion. That influence is very much reflected in how the school operates.
With over 25 years of experience, the team here offers a mix of classical and contemporary training. These include lessons in piano, guitar, and vocals.
What I find interesting is their performance-focused programs. Students don’t just learn technique. They’re also trained to perform, with opportunities that bridge modern styles and traditional foundations.
Farabi also offers more advanced programs, like composing for visual media and professional-level performance training. Both are great if you’re aiming for a music career.
But because of this more structured and performance-driven setup, it may feel better suited for serious learners rather than those just exploring music as a casual hobby.
The perfect place to channel children’s hidden talents
“Farabi is indeed the perfect place to channel children’s hidden talents. Talent alone is not enough; it must be continuously trained and developed. The teachers are patient and professional in teaching children music. Farabi continues to be an educational institution that develops talent and transforms the nation’s children into professional musicians who enjoy developing their talents.
Thank you, Farabi.”

5. DeBeat Bali

Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
A friend told me about how De Beat Bali feels more like a creative hub than just a music school. The studio started as a small shop for musicians back in 2015 and has grown into a space where people can learn, collaborate, and create.
With around 16 years of combined experience behind the team, they offer lessons for all levels. It spans from beginners to more experienced musicians.
What I really like is that they go beyond lessons. They have a full recording studio, plus extra services. These include photography, video production, and even social media content creation.
It’s a great setup if you’re looking to build a music career or grow your online presence.
They also have a listening space cafe. It’s a place where you can relax, enjoy coffee, and explore their vinyl collection.
The only downside is that slots tend to fill up quickly, so booking in advance is almost a must.
The most enjoyable place to learn music in Bali
“The most enjoyable place to learn music in Bali. The staff is friendly, and the teachers are millennials and very experienced. During the pandemic, they also offer a variety of digital programs to support children in showcasing their work through digital platforms.”

The teachers’ approach to the students and explanations are excellent
“After looking at three places, I finally decided on this place because it’s great, strategically located, has ample parking, comfortable, clean classrooms, a canteen for those waiting so they don’t get bored, and the teachers’ approach to the students and explanations are excellent and easy to understand. Recommended!”
