Dr Astayogi, their orthopaedic specialist, provides excellent service, always accompanied by an X-ray. However, I wish they offered MRIs and CT scans for a more detailed view.
Still, they offer comprehensive musculoskeletal treatment, specialising in conditions such as arthritis, fractures, and osteoporosis. Diagnostics here are simple, and patients—especially tourists—find it easy to communicate with doctors.
Treatment plans are created individually and tailored to each patient. I adore their injection therapy, since it administers medication directly into the affected area for more targeted relief.
When non-surgical methods aren’t enough, that’s the only time they consider surgery. After these, they have a brace and casting ward specifically to help patients heal from fractures.
There are reliable ear and dental services here, tailored specifically to tourists.

In addition, they offer an extensive range of services for sports injuries. These unique services are highly valued by patients, especially those undergoing Posterior Instability Reconstruction of the shoulder or knee.
Appointments here are easy and are all done in the BROS app. I love this app since it includes information about the doctor’s schedule and appointment status.

BIMC Hospital is fully accredited by the Indonesian Medical Council and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS).
The main doctor to look for here is Dr. Kadek Gede Bakta Giri, SpOT. He’s been a medical doctor since 2015 and received his orthopaedic surgery and traumatology certification from Udayana University in Bali in 2022.
The facility uses state-of-the-art medical equipment, including brand-new X-ray equipment and an ECG machine. Additionally, they have a comprehensive laboratory service here that can provide CBC and urine analysis.
Dr. Giri utilises the PRICE standard of treatment. This stands for Protection, Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation, and I’ve seen them implement it daily with solid effectiveness for patients.
Surgery is also available here, but it’s mainly done for muscles since the Ubud location is too small. Still, Dr. Giri provides great treatment for muscle injuries, and the clinic itself is quite comfortable.

My wife slipped at Taman Dedari, Ubud and suffered a ligament tear – she was in a lot of pain and was unable to walk. Dr. Cokorda Krishna Dalem Pemayun SpOT from Merdeka Medical Centre (MMC) focuses on Orthopaedics and Traumatology. He treats most ailments, and patients have received impeccable care from simple aches to bone injuries from accidents.
Unfortunately, Dr. Cokorda is only at the clinic for 2 hours, between 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Despite this, I value that MMC also received an ordinance from the Indonesian Ministry of Health designating it as one of the best in treatment for Indonesian Migrant Workers.
There are even physiotherapy services here that I’ve found helpful for regaining balance and coordination. They also offer general physician services, as well as pediatric and internal medicine care.
MMC has excellent radiology services, offering both contrast and non-contrast X-rays of the body. They also have a complete laboratory here that offers CBC and even specific packages like a diabetes package that’s quite accurate.

Murni Teguh Hospital is a modern hospital inaugurated in 2021. With over 100 comfortable inpatient beds and a reliable 24-hour emergency room, the facility is prepared for anything.
Their orthopaedic services are led by Dr. Gde Dedy Andika SpOT, who is an impressive orthopaedic surgeon. He can easily work on and repair broken bones and fractures, and is quite a comforting doctor, calming his patients before and after surgery.
There is also an extensive radiology department here that provides X-rays and CT scans. Aside from that, a mobile X-ray machine is available for physically impaired or ICU patients.
Speaking of ICU, it’s a spacious and modernized facility. There are also pathology laboratories and delivery rooms here, which showcase the hospital’s range.
Additionally, other specialists here include obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and neurology.
Despite these great offers, services can get expensive due to the modernized equipment.
