The 10 Best Swimming Pools in Bali for a Dip in Paradise

Swimming is one of the most underrated things to do in Bali. Besides its beaches, the island has many other places to swim, such as indoor pools that are great for families and beautiful outdoor floating pools with views that you’ll never forget.

Whether you’re a beginner dipping your toes for the first time or a parent planning for a fun-filled day under the sun, Bali offers a variety of pools tailored to your needs.

Some of these pools are inside high-end resorts, while others are open to everyone with a daily fee. My list of the best swimming pools in Bali includes a mixture of all. And if you’re ready to dive in, keep on reading.

1. Aramanis Villas

Hours: Monday-Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Saturday-Sunday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pricing: $$$

Aramanis Villas has 3- and 4-bedroom pool houses. Each villa offers a big pool, a tropical garden, and comfortable living rooms. Although they are all open to each other, the area is safe and quiet for families because it’s totally fenced off.

They look like a mix of modern and Balinese styles. For example, Villa Bamboo has windows that go all the way to the ceiling and a unique concrete finish. Plus, these villas are great for groups because they have big kitchens, play areas, and Wi-Fi.

Also, for a 5-minute drive, you can get to Seminyak Beach, and the “eat street” area like Ku De Ta and Mamasan is close by. It’s also right beside Starbucks Reserve Dewata, the biggest Starbucks in Southeast Asia.

Pro Tip:

If you’re planning to stay longer, you can try to negotiate rates. Hotels often offer discounts for extended bookings, which can save you a significant amount of money and make your trip more affordable.

I once went to The Kayon Jungle Resort to get away from it all.

I stayed in their Jungle Pool Villa, which has an infinity pool and jungle views. Each villa comes with breakfast, butler service, daily yoga, and cultural walks. It felt very relaxing but also quite luxurious. There’s a strong focus on healing and romance here.

Their Wanna Jungle Pool & Bar is also glamorous. For those seeking an escape, a coveted day pass is available for non-guests. It offers the chance to swim, unwind, and savor the resort’s delectable cuisine.

However, to ensure safety and tranquility, The Kayon Jungle Resort limits guests under 15 to senior citizens or individuals with mobility challenges. Pets and drones are also not allowed.

Pro Tip:

Take advantage of the resort’s shuttle service and tour packages to explore the rich cultural attractions and hidden gems surrounding Ubud.

3. Padma Resort Ubud

Many people love Padma Resort Ubud because of its quiet location. It’s in a lovely forest valley, away from Bali’s busy tourist areas.

It’s undeniable that their 89-meter heated floating pool is the best. Couples love the floating breakfast too, while families love the secret lower pool and the kids’ pool.

The rooms at Padma Resort Ubud are known for being spacious and spotless, with balconies. Guests appreciate thoughtful extras like yoga sessions, spa treatments, and on-site culture tours in the agroforest.

For those seeking a more private retreat, the resort offers a dedicated Club Lounge exclusive to Club Guests. This sophisticated space provides a quieter and more personalized experience.

Pro Tip:

Book the club room to get access to the exclusive Club Lounge. Enjoy complimentary breakfast, evening cocktails, and canapés in a quiet, elegant setting—all included in your stay.

A friend introduced me to this undiscovered treasure in the hills of Munduk. She said it was like “sleeping in the clouds” with views straight out of a painting. She booked a one-bedroom villa with an 18-meter private infinity pool.

But you can also experience a more secluded experience with the second infinity pool. And because this spot sits at a higher altitude, the pool’s temperature is controlled.

And it’s not just the swimming pools that make this place top-notch; it’s how they operate an advanced plastic recycling facility where collected plastics are sorted, washed, shredded, and melted into durable sheets.

These sheets are then crafted into various functional items, such as tissue boxes, shampoo dispensers, and signage, which guests see during their stay here.

Pro Tip:

Book from their website rather than from the other apps. You can choose from better rooms, get extras like spa deals or activities, and get early access to packages that are only available for a short time and cost up to 40% less.

5. Dwaraka The Royal Villas

Dwaraka The Royal Villas is a modern, Balinese-style resort just five minutes from Ubud Center. Its design draws inspiration from the ancient Hindu kingdom of Dwaraka, which is believed to have been established by Lord Krishna.

The resort’s 28 suites and villas feature rich colors and gold accents. One of its main highlights is its two very spacious public pools: the infinity pool, which provides a serene setting, and the lap pool, which offers an active swimming experience.

I believe that their cultural immersion activities, in addition to their pools, set them apart. They offer Balinese lessons to learn art and tradition, and cooking classes for those who want to participate in a culinary journey starting with a local market visit.

Pro Tip:

Take advantage of the resort’s free hourly shuttle to Ubud Center for quick access to the town’s markets and attractions. For a more immersive experience, grab one of the complimentary bikes and explore the surrounding villages at your own pace.

6. The Residence Seminyak

The Residence Seminyak is another place to stay. It’s a villa-style house in Bali that has its own pool. Yes, each house has a pool that people of all ages can use to relax.

The pools cater to different needs, depending on the size of the villa. Smaller villas feature intimate pools, perfect for relaxing in solitude. In contrast, larger villas offer spacious pools ideal for family gatherings, with plenty of room for lounging or playing.

I also really like that The Residence Seminyak offers convenient airport shuttle services, allowing guests to easily travel to and from the airport without the hassle of arranging transportation.

Pro Tip:

When traveling with children or seeking additional pool space, consider a three-bedroom villa or larger. This typically features more expansive pools and broader lounging spaces.

7. KANVAZ Village Resort Seminyak

I really love the 110-meter lagoon pool at Kanvaz Resort Seminyak. It stretches through the heart of the property and is surrounded by tropical greenery.

The rooms on the first floor have direct access to the pool. The Lagoon Pool Rooms feature private decks that lead straight into the water, and it’s ideal for morning swims or quiet moments by the pool.

I even tried their rooftop pool. Yes, it’s one of the features that makes them stand out, offering panoramic views of the surrounding places.

Once you’re done swimming, you can always visit The Terrace Restaurant. It serves delicious Indonesian-inspired dishes. You can’t miss the Ikan Bakar Jimbaran, which is a grilled snapper with sambal matah—spicy and smoky.

Pro Tip:

Check out the rooftop wellness facilities. The Elemental Spa offers facial and body treatments from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

8. Visesa Ubud Resort

Website: https://visesaubud.com/

Address: Jl. Suweta, Bentuyung Sakti, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar

Hours: Monday-Sunday: Open 24 hours

Pricing: $$

Located amidst rice fields and jungle, the Visesa Ubud Resort radiates calm. Their 2-bedroom Lagoon Infinity Pool Villa is one of the crowd’s favorites. Inside the villa, there’s a pool with a view of Lake Batur.

The villa has two big bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, minibar, seating area, and air conditioning. The whole area is really made for resting alone. Outside the pool area, there are sunbeds and a shady place to eat or just relax.

I’m kind of obsessed with their Cave Spa. It’s like stepping into a secret underground hideout where ancient Balinese healing magic happens. However, it’s a splurge treatment, starting at around IDR 5,000,000 for 90 minutes.

Pro Tip:

Ask the staff about their Balinese blessing ritual. I heard it’s not always advertised, but if you’re lucky, you can take part in a traditional ceremony led by a local priest right by the rice fields.

9. Andaz Bali by Hyatt

Media credit: andaz_bali

Website: https://www.hyatt.com/andaz/dpsaz-andaz-bali

Address: Jl. Danau Tamblingan No. 89a, Sanur, Bali, Kota Denpasar

Contact: +623613201234

Hours: Monday-Friday: Open 24 hours

Pricing: $$$

Andaz Bali has three outdoor pools that I really love: Liang, Santhi, and Alit.

Liang is a lively pool situated along the beachfront promenade. Santhi is in a secluded area and is exclusively available to adult guests. For families, Alit is a kid-friendly pool adjacent to the Liang Pool that’s both fun and safe.

Just note that the rooms and spaces here aren’t just placed randomly, but they’re actually laid out according to the cardinal directions. It’s a thoughtful nod to how important spatial harmony is in Balinese Hindu culture.

It’s also great that families can enjoy aqua aerobics and many kid-friendly activities throughout the day. Kemu Mai, a supervised play area, is free for in-house guests for the first two hours. After that, it costs IDR 85,000 per hour per child.

Pro Tip:

To support sustainability, Andaz Bali no longer provides bottled water or single-use items in rooms. Instead, you can bring your own toiletries and a water bottle that you can use again and again.

10. Maya Ubud Resort & Spa

Media credit: mayaubud

Website: https://mayaresorts.com/ubud

Address: Jl. Gn. Sari, Peliatan, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar

Contact: +62361977888

Hours: Monday-Sunday: Open 24 hours

The Maya Ubud Resort & Spa has many pools that are great for relaxing in nature. The Main Pool, a large infinity-edge pool, offers sweeping views of the lush jungle. Meanwhile, the Infinity Riverside Pool sits dramatically above the Petanu River valley.

At the villa, there is also a dining experience called a Floating Journey, where people can eat while floating in the pool. For extra privacy, many suites and villas come with their own private pools.

My friends like visiting The River Cafe. It’s just situated near the resort’s Infinity Riverside Pool. It is a smoke-free zone with a quiet pool and healthy meals, perfect for guests who want to unwind while staying healthy.

Pro Tip:

During your stay, you may want to try the complimentary afternoon tea served at Mayasari, located within the resort near the main pool. It provides a relaxing way to enjoy light refreshments and the beautiful surroundings without extra cost.
