Unroll Your Mat and Find Inner Peace at the 5 Best Yoga Studios in Bali

Experienced Instructors: I chose studios with skilled instructors who truly know their craft. A great instructor can make every class feel safe, inspiring, and truly meaningful.

Class Variety: I looked for studios that provide a range of styles and levels. Whether you’re just starting or a seasoned yogi, you definitely don’t want to feel boxed in.

Atmosphere: I picked studios that have a calm and inviting atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the space should help you feel relaxed, focused, and connected.

Scheduling: I prioritized studios that offer flexible class schedules. Whether it’s early mornings or weekend classes, you shouldn’t have to rearrange your entire trip just to squeeze in some yoga.

Reviews: I checked out what other students had to say. The best studios are often praised for their supportive teachers, clean spaces, and an overall positive experience.

When I started exploring yoga, I never thought it would become such a significant part of my daily routine. Those hectic mornings I used to know slowly turned into peaceful stretches with views of nature, and I began to notice how much calmer and more centered I felt after each session.

The same sense of transformation is what draws so many people to yoga in Bali. The island naturally attracts a diverse mix of enthusiasts—health-conscious locals and newcomers eager to try yoga in breathtaking surroundings.

So, if you’re ready to unroll your mat, here are some of the top yoga studios in Bali that make your practice truly memorable.

How much does a yoga class cost in Bali?

I signed up for the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Loka Yoga School in Bali. Let me tell you, it truly changed how I view teaching and personal practice!

From the very start, communications were directly with the owner and lead teacher and I could feel the love, care and passion. Upon arrival, I noticed that the super beautiful and peaceful atmosphere of Kedungu, nestled amongst ricefields and just 1km from the most pristine Bali beaches, created the most perfect and ideal environment for diving deep into the studies of yoga.

Moreover, the program beautifully blended yoga, breathwork, meditation, mantra and somatic bodywork, along with in-depth lessons on anatomy and biomechanics. It truly helped me grasp movement and alignment in a whole new way.

What I loved the most was the incredible Yoga Philosophy classes, taking me on a journey into the rich culture and history of yoga and on a journey into myself!  The mix of ancient yogic philosophy with modern techniques made the training both challenging and immensely fulfilling.  With the additional sound healing sessions and group activities, I always felt safe, held and able to drop into a deep space of healing.

We received a LOT of hands-on teaching opportunities and workshops with the team of expert teachers that helped my find my voice as a teacher and boosted my confidence in guiding others.

The accommodation was amazing and the retreat-style learning allowed me to focus entirely on my personal growth. With guidance and support from Taryn, Yann and the team of expert instructors, and lifetime access to the course and content on the Loka Yoga School online platform, I was able to relax and enjoy the whole experience without pressure of having to remember it all.  The entire training and experience was perfectly scheduled and incredibly well-rounded…you can tell they have been doing this for over 10 years!

In addition to their teacher training, Loka Yoga School also offers a diverse range of transformative programs and practices, including Yoga Teacher Training, Retreats, Yin Yoga, Breathwork, Meditation, Biomechanics, Sound Healing, Women’s Circles, Reiki, Somatic Bodywork, and Pilates. Each offering is designed to support holistic growth and empower students on every level of their wellness journey.

The whole experience at Loka Yoga School is nothing short of transformational and life-changing.  I made deep connections and new friends that feel like family, have my team of teachers cheering and still continuing to support me beyond graduation (which is rare to find!) and I feel completely ready and confident to step into the role as a teacher, successfully leading yoga, breathwork and meditation classes professionally!

In addition to their 200hr yoga teacher training, Loka Yoga School also offers a diverse range of transformative offerings online and in-person including Retreats, Yin Yoga, Breathwork, Meditation, Biomechanics, Sound Healing, Women’s Circles, Reiki, Somatic Bodywork, and Pilates.  Each offering is designed to support holistic growth and empower students on every level of their wellness journey.

Pros

  • Peaceful location by the beach in Kedungu
  • Blends all yoga styles, sound healing, breathwork, meditation, mantra chanting, ecstatic dance, somatic bodywork, anatomy and physiology
  • In-depth biomechanics and anatomical understanding
  • Hands-on teaching opportunities
  • Retreat-style immersive learning experience

Cons

  • They sell out FAST! Loka Yoga maintains small group sizes for optimal learning experience.

Loka Yoga school is one of, if not THE best, and most authentic yoga school in Bali

“When I first researched Yoga Teacher Trainings in Bali, I was overwhelmed and skeptical about choosing the right school. Whether it would provide the training that I’ve been seeking, the depth, and the emotional and spiritual journey. However, something inside me drew me naturally to Loka Yoga School. The length of time that was offered (4 weeks) also convinced me to do the YTT at Loka Yoga School, since you also need time to learn an extensive and deep practice and I know that most other schools cut corners and do not offer the full 200hr training (I did the maths and realised it didn’t add up…but Loka Yoga includes all 200hrs in their trainings!).

I truly believe that Loka Yoga school is one of, if not THE best, and most authentic yoga school in Bali.  Whether to deepen your yoga practice, or to become a confident, authentic yoga teacher, or both. The experience of doing a YTT at Loka Yoga school is truly life-changing, eye-opening, and therapeutic, giving you the opportunity to peel away the layers and dive deeper into yourself; physically, mentally and spiritually, if you wish to do so. Lead teachers and founders Taryn and Yann, have a way to hold a safe, understanding, non-judgemental space for all, while teaching yoga from the ground up.

What I love about their teaching methods is that it’s not focused on ‘commercial yoga’ at all… rather that it focuses on yoga as a whole – that is physically, mentally and spiritually – while making it all tangible and easy to understand and apply to your everyday life in some form, ultimately leading to be a more confident yoga teacher, and a more content person overall 🙂

All the teachers at Loka Yoga School have an extensive knowledge and truly practice and live what they teach. Be it Taryn’s passionate, motherly, yet somewhat fiery approach and positive vibes through and through in her teaching works and her sweet and therapeutic approach in yoga philosophy, Yann’s extensive hands-on knowledge of (yoga) anatomy and the extra activities such as Sound Healing, Ecstatic dance and Kirtan experiences, for another mature, yet playful way of expression!

What I really valued is that all the teachers were not hesitant to share their knowledge, experiences and unique gifts! All while fitting it all in a very intelligently designed schedule of four weeks for the YTT, not ‘cramming’ it all in, as other yoga schools do, but evenly spreading it out to make sure that students get the most of all the unique experiences during the YTT, having enough time to be able to embody it!

Everything I was looking for in a YTT was fulfilled at Loka Yoga School. I’ve been taken care of, welcomed in a wonderful and open group of people, and started the beginning of a new journey of self-discovery and confidence. The way all our emotions were welcomed by the teachers openly and non-judgmentally, felt very healing. The teachers are amazing and acknowledging in holding space for each individual within a group. That’s truly remarkable!

Having gone through the journey at Loka Yoga School showed me again that I can trust my intuition in choosing the right things for me.  It jump-started a much needed healing journey for me, and it truly prepared me better for the ‘real world’.

Although challenging at times, I had the most serene experience, better than what I expected! And even through the challenges I was guided with gentleness and softness.  During my time at Loka Yoga, I learned how to process my emotions better, how to release weight, and how to build up strength and resilience again! It’s like I was not only prepared to be an authentic Yoga Teacher, but also how to show up more authentically and unapologetically in life!

I will be forever grateful for Taryn and Yann and the whole Loka Yoga family, that they chose me as well for their YTT, and for everything they’ve given me!

Felt so safe, secure, and supported throughout the entire teacher training

“My experience with Loka Yoga School far exceeded any expectations I had. I felt so safe, secure, and supported throughout my entire teacher training. All the instructors were dedicated and passionate about their teachings. I really appreciated the overall curriculum and diving deeper into the anatomical and philosophical areas of my yoga practice. Taryn is an amazing and inspiring teacher who is truly passionate about her teachings and school! The 200-hour YTT is highly recommended for those wanting an intentional and rewarding experience. Look no further for a YTT!”

I kept hearing that the Alchemy Yoga and Meditation Center in Bali was where people went for a transformative experience.

It’s true, as I enjoyed their flow-oriented Water classes. I also loved the fire classes that challenged my core strength and arm balances, and the Earth sessions that helped me refine my alignment and stamina.

In addition, their breathwork and meditation sessions added even more depth to my experience.

What truly made this experience stand out was the sound bath. The vibrations and guidance created a deep sense of calm and inner clarity that I had never experienced before.

I also loved participating in their mantra and chakra alignment workshops, which gave me a heightened sense of inner balance and energy flow.

Beyond classes, the studio offers a welcoming community and holistic approach that blends yoga, healing, and mindful living.

One small downside was that some of the advanced Fire and Water workshops filled up quickly, so I had to book early to secure a spot.

Pros

  • Wide variety of class styles (Water, Fire, Earth)
  • Breathwork and meditation sessions
  • Sound bath and chakra workshops
  • Welcoming community atmosphere
  • Holistic approach to yoga and healing

Cons

  • Advanced workshops fill up quickly

Instructors are all experts in their respective areas of yoga

“If you are looking for a yoga experience. This is the place. Everything is set up for you. They clean the mats after use thoroughly. They have a great sound system, so you can hear your instructors, and the music is more immersive. The instructors are all experts in their respective areas of yoga. The atmosphere is not like other yoga studios in Ubud. It’s more sophisticated and orderly.”

Classes are diverse, heartfelt, and rooted in a philosophy

“Alchemy Yoga is a beautiful sanctuary in Ubud. Over six weeks, we practiced daily with some of the most intuitive, grounded, and inspiring teachers I’ve ever met. The classes are diverse, heartfelt, and rooted in a philosophy that gently brings you back to yourself on and off the mat. The space is welcoming, the energy warm, and the behind-the-scenes team truly makes you feel at home. A place of real connection, deep breath, and daily transformation. Could not recommend it more.”

I arrived at House of Om Amertham on a rainy morning, hoping the lush jungle air would seep into my bones, and it absolutely did.

They offer immersive weekend retreats, so I was happy to sign up. We explored vinyasa, Hatha, and Ashtanga flows, along with deep pranayama and chanting circles.

Halfway through, I joined their sound meditation by the river’s edge. The gentle hum of gongs mixed with the birdsong transported me into a rare state of calm.

I also participated in their nature bath walk. It’s a guided barefoot stroll through the forest between sessions, which made me feel more grounded than ever.

However, the shared-dorm style lodging felt a bit cramped on the second night, especially when the rain started leaking in.

But what stood out was their Karma Yoga program. I spent an afternoon cooking with locals and helping out in the community garden. It gave me a sense of belonging that went beyond the mat.

Pros

  • Immersive weekend retreats
  • Variety of yoga styles
  • Sound meditation by the river
  • Nature-bath forest walks
  • Karma yoga and community programs

Cons

  • Shared-dorm lodging can feel cramped

Perfect spot to be close to nature and find stillness within

“The memories at House of Om are unforgettable. Not only did I come closer towards myself, but I also welcomed a whole new family into my heart. The teachers are beyond my expectations. I am so grateful for learning from such smart, supportive, loving and kind individuals who shared their yoga wisdom with us students. The Location, Amertham, was filled with lush greenery, the sound of the river and magical moments everywhere. The perfect spot to be close to nature and find stillness within. Thank you, House of Om, teachers and my student family for this wonderful experience.”

Space itself felt so comfortable and safe

“House of Om was a transformative experience for me. The space itself felt so comfortable and safe, I would’ve loved to stay for months! Connecting with so many like-minded souls was refreshing, and I am forever grateful for the teachers who were a part of this transforming journey.”

When I visited Radiantly Alive in Ubud, I signed up for their Vinyasa Krama class. The way each movement flowed with the breath felt so natural and grounding.

After that, I enjoyed a yin and sound healing session. The soothing sounds of crystal bowls, handpan, and Lemurian frequencies were accompanied by the echoes of the jungle.

A friend of mine mentioned she once tried their authentic relating workshops. The participants engaged in vulnerability games that deepen connections beyond the mat.

On another note, a previous client I spoke with shared that her only frustration was how the Aerial Flow class often fills up quickly. As a result, it was hard to secure a spot.

What I also appreciated about Radiantly Alive is how welcoming and diverse the community felt.

In between my classes, I also spent time at their Chandra cafe lounge (a little nook within the studio) sipping on fermented tonics and enjoying nourishing plant-based bowls. It made the whole experience feel complete.

Pros

  • Vinyasa Krama class
  • Sound healing sessions
  • Authentic Relating workshops
  • On-site Chandra cafe with plant-based options
  • Welcoming the international community

Cons

  • Some classes can book out quickly

Teachers here are so amazing

“I got a one-week unlimited pass and I’m enjoying every second here! The teachers here are so amazing, and I absolutely love Michael’s meditation class. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to experience yoga in a genuine way, and I’ll definitely come back in the future!”

Challenging in the best way

“Absolutely loved my experience at Radiant Alive! Took a vinyasa class with Joelle, and it was one of the best I’ve had in Bali. The class was challenging in the best way—thoughtful transitions, creative sequencing, and incredible balance work. Joe’s cues were clear, supportive, and kept me fully engaged. I just wish I had found this place sooner! If you’re at an intermediate to advanced level, this is the spot. You will not be disappointed.”

ADDA Yoga Bali is the perfect spot to go to if you’re in need of a lazy afternoon after an intense sports session.

Their vinyasa class is truly top-notch. A friend who has tried it mentioned that it helped open up her hips, all while she grooved to an energizing beat. The studio’s top-notch sound really made a huge difference.

Many students who have joined a Yin Plus breathwork session have reported feeling every part of themselves relax. The Acro Yoga workshop is also a hit. Teaming up with a local yogi to find balance is both thrilling and oddly grounding.

Their second healing and chakra alignment class is also a nice touch, as the gentle gong vibrations release some of the pent-up tension.

The only problem is their no-online-payment policy, which is a bit hassle when you’re low on cash.

Nevertheless, I love how each instructor uses a mic, ensuring that everyone in the back can hear the cues clearly.

Trust me, by the time you leave the studio, you will feel both energized and fulfilled by the vibrant energy that surrounds you.

Pros

  • Offers Acro Healing, Yin, Vinyasa
  • High-quality sound system
  • Instructors use microphones for clear cues
  • Breathwork and chakra alignment sessions
  • Welcoming community vibe

Cons

  • No online payment option

Sunset class was exactly what I needed to completely switch off and relax

“This evening I went along to the sunset gentle flow Yoga and The Fire of Peace ceremony. Made is a great teacher and holds a beautiful space. I thoroughly enjoyed both, the sunset class was exactly what I needed to completely switch off and relax, and the Fire Ceremony was such a peaceful experience, I floated out of there, the perfect end to a 2-week trip and would highly recommend it.”

Practice was fully personalized, light yet deep at the same time

“I had an incredible private yoga class with a teacher from Adda Yoga Canggu, who came to my hotel. The practice was fully personalized—light yet deep at the same time. I felt renewed, peaceful, and truly cared for. Without a doubt, an amazing experience that filled my trip to Bali. Highly recommended!”
