Your Tropical Sugar Fix Awaits at the Top 5 Ice Cream Shops in Bali
When I traveled to Bali during the peak of summer, I was taken aback by just how intense the heat was.
After a few days exploring Canggu and Ubud, I discovered that the best way to beat the heat wasn’t by hiding indoors—it was indulging in some delicious ice cream. So, I started checking out different ice cream shops, from the famous spots to local shops serving up tropical flavors.
If you’re visiting the island and craving something cold and refreshing, here are the top ice cream shops in Bali that made the heat a lot more bearable.
How much does a small cone of ice cream cost in Bali?
A small cone of ice cream in Bali typically costs between IDR 35,000 and IDR 65,000. However, prices vary depending on location, type of ice cream, and whether you’re buying from a shop or a budget-friendly street vendor.
1. Sandara Gelato

Address: Jl. Labuansait No.315, Pecatu, Kec. Kuta Sel, Kabupaten Badung
Contact Details: +62 811 3990 069
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Sunday: 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM
While in Bali, I stopped by Sandara Gelato, and I was instantly impressed by how clean and welcoming the shop felt. They celebrated their 3rd birthday (or anniversary) in August 2024.
They offer a nice variety of vegan and dairy-based ice creams to suit different tastes. I got a cone with two scoops for IDR 35,000, which was a great deal.
The staff even took the time to explain the 16 flavors they had on offer. They sell some unique flavors like Caramelized Figs Cheesecake, which has a smooth texture and just the right amount of sweetness.
I also spotted the Mango Sticky Rice flavor, featuring fresh mango chunks and creamy coconut that looked absolutely delicious. Another standout is the Brookie Special, a mix of brownie and cookie—definitely a hearty treat.
A local friend suggested I try the Lemon Sorbet, and it was just what I needed to cool off in the Bali heat.
One small tip is to prepare cash for convenience, as they don’t accept cards. Regardless, what I love most is how easy it is to get a tub in whatever flavor I’m craving, all through GrabFood (very convenient!).

Incredibly good value for the size of the scoops
“The nicest service in this area. The lady is so friendly and really welcoming, despite it being almost closing at the time we were served. Also, the best coconut ice cream I’ve ever tasted! The only thing to be aware of is that they only accept cash, but it’s so incredibly good value for the size of the scoops!”

2. Gusto Gelato & Caffe

Address: Jl. Mertanadi No.46B, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung
Contact Details: +62 851 0052 2190
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
A tourist I met mentioned that they always stop by Gusto Gelato & Caffe for its authentic Italian gelato. Aside from that, the shop has a spacious display area that makes choosing flavors easy and fun.
I was impressed with its selection of gelato flavors. I tried the Pistachio and Stracciatella first, and let me tell you, the creamy texture was just perfect.
Then, I tasted the coffee-flavored gelato. It was rich and aromatic, just like a good cup of coffee. I also liked their waffle cones because they added a nice crunch.
I found out that they use 70 percent Indonesian ingredients with no preservatives or artificial colors, so you really taste the natural flavors of each ingredient.
The small cups let you mix two flavors, which is a nice touch. You pay at the counter and hand your receipt to the staff who serve the gelato.
There’s also a separate parking area, and the interior is spacious and clean. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it’s a great spot to enjoy your ice cream.
However, the gelato is a bit pricey, so it helps to start with a small cup if you’re on a budget.
Famous for its delicious ice cream and wide variety of flavors

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the ice cream pair
“Already come here twice, and I must say the gelato is not too sugary and so creamy. There are so many variations to choose from, which is unique, making me want to come back and try more flavors. One of the best gelatos I have tried so far, and the staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about that ice cream pair is the best!”

3. Gelato Factory

Address: Jl. Kayu Aya No.32, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung
Contact Details: +62 819 1698 0795
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: AM to PM
The Gelato Factory in Bali offers a fun and flavorful experience. Their famous chocolate and vanilla swirls are rich and creamy, while the tropical mango gelato bursts with a refreshing flavor that really stands out.
A friend who visited last year mentioned that the gelato tasted homemade, and I couldn’t agree more.
With around 30 flavors to choose from, the fruit-based options are made with fresh, local ingredients, giving each scoop a natural, light taste.
They also have sorbet, a water-based, dairy-free option with about 20 fruity flavors. Plus, their plant-based gelato made with oat milk has a smooth, creamy texture that rivals traditional gelato while being completely dairy-free.
If you’re looking for something different, they offer popsicles made with an Italian popsicle machine that guarantees a clean production process and a slightly icy texture.
One of my favorite highlights is their selection of chocolate desserts. The brownie paired with gelato stood out for its rich chocolate flavor with just the right hint of bitterness that complemented the creamy scoop on top.
One downside is that seating is limited, so the place can get crowded during peak hours.
Incredibly kind and always makes us feel welcome
“Excellent ice cream, pancakes generously filled with Nutella, and delicious toppings. The brownie with ice cream is simply amazing! All compliments to the staff, they’re incredibly kind, friendly, and always make us feel welcome. My fiancé and I go there every evening for something sweet, and we’re absolutely delighted every time. Highly recommended to everyone, it’s definitely the most delicious and best-quality ice cream in Bali!”

The price is justified for the quantity of ice cream
“The staff is really nice and always smiling. Scoop size is quite huge, and the price is justified for the quantity of ice cream. Must try their chocolate cones. And a good variety of flavours along with eggless options. Must visit if you’re in the area.”

4. Dolci Gelato Seminyak

Address: Jl. Camplung Tanduk No.99, Seminyak, Kec. Kuta, Kabupaten Badung
Contact Details: +62 817 0380 8777
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Dolci Gelato Seminyak is a must-visit for anyone craving a delicious and creamy treat. I tried the salted caramel and dark chocolate flavors, and they were just the right balance of sweetness and smoothness.
In addition, the fruit sorbets were refreshing, especially on a blazing Bali day. A fellow tourist suggested I try the coconut flavor, and it did not disappoint with its natural and rich taste.
The shop itself was tidy and well-organized, making it easy to choose a flavor. Plus, they whip up their gelato fresh every day.
It’s also worth mentioning that they offer flavors like Lemon Meringue and Wildberry Cheesecake. Crowd favorites include Pineapple and S’mores.
Aside from that, the staff were friendly and even offered samples to help me find my favorite.
The only problem is that some flavors tend to sell out quickly. If you swing by later in the day, your options might be limited.
During my recent trip, we found ourselves stopping by every night since it’s conveniently located between Kuta and Seminyak. New flavors pop up almost daily, so there’s always something new to try.
New and different flavors most days too
“This place is epic, and I would 1000% recommend everyone go! On my recent trip, we went every night as it is conveniently located in Kuta and Seminyak! There were new and different flavours most days too, so always something new to try. Pineapple was definitely a favourite, along with Ferrero, Biscoff, smores, and espresso cookie crunch.”

They’ve got a good range of flavors
“Incredible gelato and a perfect stop in Seminyak! They’ve got a good range of flavors, which is always nice. The staff were really sweet and let me try a couple before deciding. It’s a small, clean spot with a cute vibe. Perfect for a quick break while walking around. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and craving something cold.”

5. Ettore Gelato

Address: Jl. Pantai Pererenan No.88, Canggu, Kec. Mengwi, Kabupaten Badung
Contact Details: +62 811 3958 884
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: AM to PM
Ettore Gelato is a gem when it comes to creative flavors. Behind this delicious gelato is Ettore Chiodini, a professional Gelato Chef and Sommelier from Italy. His artisanal approach means every recipe is made by hand, without industrial premixes.
A local told me that Ettore uses high-quality ingredients sourced right from Bali, and I could definitely taste the quality.
I had the chance to try the tropical passion fruit gelato, and it was bright and tangy. The dark chocolate option was rich but not too sweet.
For my next choice, I went for the Ricotta Caramel Almond and Snickers dairy gelato. It’s a sweet-and-salty combination that was perfect after a busy day.
They even offer a Vegan Pistachio made with oat milk that was so delicious. The portions are generous too, with two flavors for just 45,000, more than enough to savor.
Besides, the shop itself has a stylish vibe, making it a great spot to unwind with some gelato. There’s seating for small groups, and they even provide cold water.
For those with adventurous palates, they offer unique flavors like matcha and avocado, adding a fun twist to the menu.
The only downside is that the selection is a bit smaller compared to other gelato shops in Bali, so you might find fewer options at times.
Always happy to serve you even when it’s super busy
“One of the best gelatos in Bali. I’ve switched up my order here a few times, but I’m absolutely in love with my latest pick—a regular cup with scoops of pistachio and hazelnut. Give it a try and thank me later. It’s pure heaven. It’s a small shop and always packed, but the service never disappoints. The crew here is the real magic—they’re always happy to serve you, even when it’s super busy. If you’re around Canggu or Pererenan, make sure you swing by this cute little gelato spot.”

Portion sizes are also generous
“Genuine Gelato tastes amazing, and they also have Vegan Pistachio made from Oatmylk good selection, and great quality. Portion sizes are also generous, 45k for 2 flavors, which was large, and I couldn’t finish. Staff are lovely too.”
