Level Up Your Rock Climbing in Bali at These 4 Thrilling Spots

Are you looking for adventure with a side of zen? Bali delivers both. From indoor gyms perfect for beginners to dramatic sea cliffs and volcanic craters, the island is a dream for climbers of all levels. You can think of it as a wellness retreat, just with more adrenaline.

In fact, on a recent trip, we were surprised by how climbing here goes beyond the physical. Between the natural beauty and the welcoming climbing community, it felt like the perfect combination of challenge and recharge.

And after trying out a few routes, talking to local guides, and comparing gear-smeared notes with fellow adventurers, we put together a list of top rock climbing spots in Bali.

We spent an afternoon at Clip n’ Climb Bali, and honestly, it was a blast. It’s Indonesia’s first official branch, opened in February 2025. It offers fun, fitness, and friendly challenges.

Each wall has its own vibe. There are the fast climbs, balance tests, and brainy puzzles. The bright designs and clever layouts made us feel like kids at an adventure park.

We also appreciate how their TruBlue automatic belay system and EP climbing walls ensure a safe climb for everyone, including children as young as 4. It lets you clip in, climb, and laugh through each wall on your own.

The Stairway to Heaven or free-fall jump was a total highlight. With our experience, these challenges pushed our limits just enough to make our hearts race (in a good way, of course).

Climbing classes are even available for all ages, and the instructors were super friendly. We learned new moves, and it felt more like play than training.

Pro Tip:

Want more thrill? Upgrade your pass for the Drop Slide or free fall. They’re perfect for testing your courage and adding an unforgettable twist to your climb.

Klimb began as a dream shared by two friends who met through climbing in September 2022. Their passion shaped a gym that feels like home for all of us climbers.

In a year, they built something special. In fact, in 2025, Klimb proudly welcomed climbers from around the world during the World Cup qualifiers. This solidified Bali’s place on the global climbing map and made us all proud.

What impressed us the most was their fully air-conditioned space. It helped us stay cool and focused as we tackled walls up to 4 meters high, featuring styles from flat to overhang.

Now, remember that routes here change often, thanks to expert setters who keep our climbs fresh and challenging. But beyond the physical challenges, the vibe was all about community. We swapped tips, cheered each other, and relaxed in the chill-out lounge after our sessions.

Pro Tip:

After your lesson, hang out in the chill zone for casual beta talks. You’ll often pick up useful climbing tips from other climbers that you won’t get in class.

3. Monk Climbing Gym

Pricing: $$$

Monk Climbing Gym welcomes climbers of all levels, from beginner to seasoned boulderers. The gym offers lead climbing and bouldering walls with routes that change often, so there’s always something new to try.

Its Intro to Bouldering class is ideal for first-timers. Priced at IDR 300,000, it includes gear, guidance, and access to the walls. We really appreciate that the shoes and chalk are already included with all-day passes.

And the prices remain reasonable, with discounts available for KITAS/KTP holders. You can opt for a single entry, monthly packages, or kids’ deals.

Aside from walls, what we like most about Monk Climbing Gym is that they organize outdoor adventures. These include canyoning, glamping, and rock climbing, paired with visits to hot springs or hikes up Mount Batur.

Pro Tip:

Weekdays see much lighter crowds than weekends. Arriving around 12 PM – 1 PM on a weekday lets you claim a prime lot near the wall and maximize climbs before lunch rush.
