The 5 Best Spanish Restaurants in Bali That’ll Ruin Basic Dining for You (In the Best Way)
It was my friend’s anniversary with his wife recently. When he was planning for it, he thought every dining spot he knew felt the same—only good for photos, but there’s no real soul or storytelling behind the food.
He tried tons of eateries in the city that week and wishes there were more romantic restos for special occasions. His mom talked to him about different cuisines, and so far, sharing small plates in a Spanish place seemed the most promising for him.
And since I’m his most enthusiastic foodie pal, he asked me for help in finding the best Spanish restaurants in Bali. I ended up digging through a mix of tapas bars, beach clubs, and hidden wine spots until I had a solid list.
So if you’re also looking for options that go beyond the usual hype, feel free to check out our top list.
1. La Paella Bali

La Paella Bali is a small, warm Spanish-style restaurant in Canggu, big on shareable plates. This especially applies to their paella (pan-cooked rice dish) and tapas (light small plates).
Some bestsellers are Paella Valenciana (made with chicken, liver, and flat green beans) and Arroz del Señorito (dry seafood rice with fish).
We think these dishes pair well with refreshing drinks like their signature sangria or Spanish beer like Estrella. Many also like the Pudin de Mango (silky mango pudding), a light tropical Mediterranean dessert.
It costs around IDR 500,000 to IDR 700,000 for 2, which is quite competitive for Canggu’s upscale casual scene.
And for us, they give off a relaxed, gathering-friendly kind of vibe. They’re good for couples, friends, or families looking for a cozy dinner with bold flavors.
But since their paella is made-to-order from scratch, there’s often a significant wait time for the main course.
Also, note that their family atmosphere can make the small space a tad loud during peak hours.
The balance of flavors was on point
“Ambience was good. 🙂 The starters were very good. The highlight of the meal was the paella. It was deliocus the balance of flavors were on point. Definitely a must try when you are in Canggu. We had an excellent dinner experience. Staff were very attentive and friendly of course.”
-Andrea Krizzia de Jesus, Google Review

2. El Kabron

Address: Jl. Pantai Cemongkak, Pecatu, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung
Contact Details:
- +62 813 3723 5750
- [email protected]
Business Hours: Daily: 11:00 am to 12:00 am
El Kabron is a luxury beach club and oceanfront Spanish-style dining spot in Uluwatu. We love that they’re famous for their cliff-top views, sunset atmosphere, and party beach club energy.
Their main dishes include seafood paella (rice dish with giant lobster), Wagyu (high-quality Japanese beef) sliders, and fresh oysters on ice. A customer even raved to us about how tasty their strawberry margarita is.
For a sweet finish, we recommend their cheesecake with a twist. This one is served with caramelized orange and berries.
The minimum spend for 2 here is at least IDR 800,000, which puts this restaurant in the mid-to-high range in the area. They’re more expensive than casual sunset bars but more affordable than top-tier VIP beach clubs.
But if you want poolside daybeds, expect to spend significantly more. This starts around IDR 1,500,000 to IDR 1,800,000 per person for pool access and premium views. Yet, solo guests might need to pay the minimum spend for 2 to secure a daybed.
With these rates, understand that they’re not a quiet, budget paella-only spot. They’re a high-end, all-day venue where you pay for the view and vibe as much as the food.
Really amazing experience
“Really amazing experience, amazing food. Excellent service, especially Dinda, she was extremely nice to us ❤️”

The service is top-notch
“Very tasty, the service is top notch, I have never seen more beautiful sunsets in Bali, I recommend everyone to visit this place”
3. Peseta Restaurant

Address: ITDC Lot 1, Jl. Nusa Dua, Kabupaten Badung, Paradisus by Meliá Bali
Contact Details: +62 361 771 510
Business Hours: Daily: 6:30 am to 10:30 am, 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Peseta Restaurant is a luxury Spanish-style restaurant inside the Paradisus by Meliá Bali resort in Nusa Dua.
With their polished, hotel-resort vibe led by Chef Pablo, they focus on traditional dishes like paella and Iberian ham.
Notable dishes here are the pulpo (octopus), rib-eye steak, and paella croquettes (a fusion tapas dish with paella flavors in crispy, deep-fried balls). We reckon these are best partnered with either their Spanish or traditional Bali sweet wine.
Dessert-wise, we heard good things about their rich gianduja (Italian confection featuring chocolate cremeux, hazelnut ganache, and gelato). But if you want something fruity, we say go for the fig Basque cheesecake.
Dining for 2 would cost approximately IDR 1,000,000 to IDR 1,500,000 for a full à la carte dinner. While many eat here as part of an all-inclusive package, the initial prices are considered high but pretty standard for a 5-star Nusa Dua resort.
Just remember that there’s a dress code. For example, the men should be mindful not to wear sleeveless shirts, while the women should avoid very casual beachwear or damp swimwear.
Spectacular cuisine, atmosphere, and service
“One of the best Spanish restaurants in Bali. Thank you Chef Pablo and his team for cooking the best Spanish food. Spectacular cuisine, atmosphere and service. From the iberico croquettes to pan con tomato, to gazpacho, to octopus à la plancha to the most delicious desserts! You must come.”

A flavorful experience that transported us back to Spain
“We came for our honeymoon from Seville, and it was a flavorful experience that transported us back to Spain. Pablo, the chef, is a delightful person and has perfectly captured the flavors of our country in the menu. The Iberian ham croquettes and the Spanish omelet are pure magic; I highly recommend trying them.”

4. Barcelona Vinos y Tapas

Address: Jl. Raya Pengosekan Ubud No.102, Ubud, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar
Contact Details: +62 822 6678 5772
Business Hours: Daily: 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm
Barcelona Vinos y Tapas is a cozy, Spanish-style tapas and wine bar in central Ubud. They mostly serve small plates and Spanish wines in a relaxed, intimate vibe.
Their crowd favorites include Wagyu tartar, Gambas al Ajillo (classic prawns in garlic-infused olive oil), and fresh sardines.
We also like their curated selection of Spanish and Argentine wines. They’re described by patrons we spoke with as well-maintained despite the tropical climate.
For sweet tooths, we bet you’ll love their Crema Catalana (traditional custard dessert) with strawberries.
A meal for 2 costs around IDR 500,000 to IDR 800,000, within Ubud’s premium casual bracket. While prices for small plates typically start around IDR 50,000 to IDR 80,000, expect items like Wagyu tartar to be much pricier.
Since their location sits in the heart of Ubud’s dining strip, we believe it’s easy to walk here from many hotels and guesthouses.
Just note that this venue only opens from 5 pm onwards, so there isn’t an option for lunch or afternoon meals. Plus, we feel they might not be ideal for big groups since the limited indoor space can make it cramped during peak hours.
All the food was delicious
“We decided to have dinner there after many days of eating at warungs and trying local food. We were served by a Balinese waiter (Hana) who spoke excellent Spanish and was very friendly. A great find! All the food was delicious.”
-Kike Ibañez, Google Review
Such good quality and an authentic find
“Wow wow !! What a find. We were just walking, as the restaurant we were planning to go to was fully booked. We stopped into this gem of a restaurant as my husband is Spanish and we needed to escape the chaos outside. We were hesitant at first, so just ordered two tapas and a wine. They were amazing! Such good quality and authentic. We ended up staying for dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was great. I wish we could get Spanish food like this in Australia. We are going back tonight!!”

5. Alma Tapas Bar

Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung
Contact Details:
- +62 819 9910 5888

Business Hours: Daily: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Alma Tapas Bar is a neighborhood-style Spanish tapas bar in Canggu. They’re pretty chill with a polished vibe and shareable plates. In addition, we find it interesting that their menu is thoughtfully divided into Land, Sea, Garden, and Delicatessen for structure and variety.
From here, the bestsellers are the Pulpo a la Plancha (grilled octopus with potato mash), chicken liver pâté (paste), and beef carpaccio (paper-thinly sliced raw beef).
Many regulars also like their Sunday sangria—red, white, or sparkling. Otherwise, you can opt for their artisan cocktails, like the cucumber-infused one or the espresso martini.
For dessert, there are several classic options like the affogato (Italian dessert with vanilla gelato and espresso). Note that their cheesecake is often given as a complimentary treat for celebrations.
Dining for 2 can set you back around IDR 800,000 to IDR 1,000,000 for a full meal with drinks. While their rates are similar to those of other rivals, we think the options here are more extensive, which adds value.
However, they’re often fully booked due to being popular and compact. Our advice is to make a reservation to avoid sitting at the bar.
Everybody is amazingly helpful and lovely
“Incredible place. Everybody’s amazingly helpful, lovely, always with a smiley face. We had 4-5 different servings to share between two. It’s easily enough. Favs are: the octopus and surprisingly hamburger. You will never feel sorry to visit this place.”
-Busra Zaimoglu, Google Review
